Salem is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). You may learn more about the ELCA on their website.
We are rooted in scripture and the teachings of Jesus Christ, we confess the Apostles’ Creed, and we practice and Open Table at Holy Communion. Most of all, we believe that church should be a place where we experience God’s love and grace in community with one another before we are sent back out into the world to love and serve our neighbors.

Whatever makes you most comfortable! On any given Sunday, you will likely see people at Salem wearing jeans, t-shirts, slacks, button-ups, dresses, shorts, and sweatshirts. If you prefer to wear your “Sunday Best,” please do! But know that it is not a requirement for worship.

Yes! We practice an Open Table, which means everyone is welcome at Holy Communion. No questions asked.
At Salem, kids usually take First Communion classes around 5th Grade, so you may see some children receive a blessing instead of bread and wine/grace juice. If you are new to Salem, servers will look to parents for guidance on how you would like your children to participate.
We celebrate Holy Communion every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of the month.

At Salem, we believe that having kids in worship is like having kids at the dinner table. They are there because they are part of the family, not because their manners are perfect. We know that the only way for children to learn about their faith is by practicing it. Your kids and your family are welcome here.
Every worship service includes a Children’s Message where kids are invited (but not required) to come to the front of the sanctuary. During the school year, Sunday School for Pre-K through Sixth Grade is held after worship.
-
Each week, worshippers are invited for coffee and snacks in Fellowship Hall following the service. You are welcome to join and will be greeted warmly! Fellowship and friendship are some of the things Salem does best.
There is a free will offering basket at coffee hour, but know that a donation is not required to enjoy the food and refreshments.
If you are coming just for worship, there will be an easy opportunity to slip out after the service.

Sunday School (Pre-K - 6th Grade) meets on Sundays during the school year following worship.
Confirmation (7th-9th Grade) meets on Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:30-7:30pm. Classes are combined with Lysne Lutheran Church and rotate between the two buildings.
Check out our Events Page for more information about upcoming activities.
